The latest installment of the US-Mexico Soccer rivalry was not without astericks. Michael Bradley’s challenge on Javier Hernandez could have gone either way – and it did, as the line judge disagreed with head referee. Then came Maurice Edu’s challenge on Javier Aquino in the 76th minute, where Edu took down Aquino from behind without any contact of the ball.
Ironically, this controversy came hours after FIFA rejected Costa Rica’s bid to replay the blizzard match from Friday. In the end, the U.S. came away with the 0-0 draw, and collected four points in the international break.
