Steve Bernier violently checked L.A.’s Rob Scuderi into the boards during the first period of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Bernier received a five-minute major penalty for the hit and got thrown out of the game. The Kings responded with 3 power play goals and can probably be crowned 2012 Stanley Cup champions.
With this check that probably cost the Devils a chance at the Cup, angry Devils fans started the destruction of Bernier’s Wikipedia page. Some examples of the destruction:
WARNING: Some of the stuff these pissed Devils fans added have NSFW language:
“Bernier is a douche who pees sitting down and cost the Devils a chance at winning the Stanley Cup.”
“Bernier is the most hated Devil of all time.”
“Bernier promptly f***ed the Devils in the *** in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals. This was followed by a tarring and feathering in Newark, NJ, which unfortunately or not ended in a public flogging.”
“Bernier’s penis length = 0.02 inches.”
“Bernier is a Bitch ass.”
“Bernier enjoys the feel of sweaty balls against his chin and costing the Devils a chance at a Stanley Cup.”
Wikipedia is now heavily on the case of these angry fans – they’re not letting anyone edit Bernier’s page. If you put your mouse pointer over a small image of a lock, some text said “This article is semi-protected until June 12, 2012.”
Maybe Wikipedia needs to extend the protection of the page for longer. It might take a while for Devils fans to get over the penalty.
