On Saturday night, Caitlin Clark and Team WNBA defeated Team USA in the WNBA All-Star Game, sparking some conversation about whether or not Team USA was as dominant as expected. But Clark does not think Team USA’s loss is any indictment on them.
After the game, Caitlin Clark did not hold back her true thoughts on Team USA as she made it very clear that she thinks Team USA is still very talented and will do just fine in the upcoming Paris Olympic Games.
“They’re really good. They have plenty of talent on that team. Four years prior I’m pretty sure Team WNBA beat Team USA, [and] they were perfectly fine in the Olympics,” Clark said after the game.
“If anything, it shows how good this league is. It shows how much talent is in this league and how you have to show up and prepare every single night. There’s a lot of players that aren’t even here tonight that could be here too. It just shows the amount of talent we have.”
Clark was obviously not selected to Team USA for this year’s Olympic Games, sparking controversy from fans and media. But it sounds like she’s still supporting the team and thinks they’ll be just fine without her.
