The regular season hasn’t even officially began for the Indiana Fever but rookie sensation Caitlin Clark is already drawing absolutely massive crowds.
On Thursday night, Caitlin Clark made her home debut for the Indiana Fever in a preseason exhibition game against the Atlanta Dream. And even though it was just a preseason game, Clark still drew an absolutely massive crowd as more than 13,000 people packed into the arena to watch her play.
“The Indiana Fever broadcast has reported that 13,028 fans are in attendance for tonight’s preseason game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse,” WNBA reporter Khristina Williams said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

To put this attendance total into perspective, the most-attended Indiana Fever game last regular season was just 7,356 and the average attendance was 4,066. Thursday night’s attendance was nearly double the most attended game last season and nearly triple the average attendance last year – all for a preseason game.
Additionally, the attendance total ranks higher than all but 12 Indiana Fever games in history – regular or postseason – and is the most-attended game since 2016 when more than 17,000 came out to watch Tamika Catchings’ last regular season home game.
Needless to say, it sounds like Clark is going to bring in a lot of fans this season.
