Caitlin Clark is one of the most prolific three-point shooters in the history of basketball, but it sounds like she will not be participating in the upcoming three-point contest at the WNBA All-Star game.
According to a report from national women’s basketball writer Doug Feinberg of the Associated Press, Caitlin Clark was invited to participate in the three-point contest at the All-Star game but she has surprisingly declined the invitation.
“The @WNBA confirmed that [Sabrina Ionescu] and Caitlin Clark were invited for 3-point contest and declined participating. Ionescu is taking part in the Olympic camp which is getting ready for the Paris Games,” Feinberg said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

While Feinberg reports that Ionescu declined in order to focus on the upcoming Paris Olympic games, it’s not exactly clear why Clark decided not to participate in the three-point contest considering that she was not selected to participate on this year’s U.S. Olympic team.
Clark has emerged as one of the top three-point shooters in the WNBA as just a rookie, ranking No. 5 in the league so far this season with 2.7 three-point makes per game, hitting 32.7 percent of her shots from beyond the arc.
