On Tuesday night, women’s basketball superstar Caitlin Clark made her much anticipated WNBA debut with the Indiana Fever against the Connecticut Sun just weeks after she was selected as the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft. But unfortunately for Clark, her debut did not go quite as she would have hoped.

Caitlin Clark struggled early in the game as she couldn’t make a single shot until midway through the second quarter. She also struggled when it came to handing the ball, finishing the game with a staggering 10 turnovers, the most in WNBA history for a player in their debut game.

Though Clark did ultimately finish the game with 20 points to lead her team, the Fever still fell by a score of 92-71.

After the game, Clark expressed her disappointment with the way the game went but vowed to improve.

“I’m disappointed, and nobody likes to lose, but I don’t think you can beat yourself up too much about one game,” Clark said. “I don’t think that’s going to help this team.

“Just learn from it and move on.”

Obviously, it’s pretty horrible news for Clark that her WNBA debut went so poorly, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.

We’ll have to see how Clark bounces back from this.
