Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark had some growing pains in her first couple of WNBA games. But as of late, it seems like she is starting to hit her stride in a way that no other rookie in the history of the league has done.

Clark had the best game of her young career to date on Tuesday night, scoring a career-high 30 points, five rebounds, and six assists. She also contributed in a huge way on the defensive side of the ball, recording three blocks and three steals.

This game marks the first time that a rookie in the WNBA has had this kind of stat sheet in a game.

With this performance, Clark has set a record pace for herself when it comes to both scoring and passing the ball. According to StatMamba on X, formerly known as Twitter, Clark has reached 100 career points and 50 career assists faster than any rookie in the history of the WNBA.

This kind of performance from Clark should certainly inspire some confidence that she will one day be one of the best players in the league if she hasn’t already reached that level.

But one somewhat concerning factor thus far in Clark’s career has been that her individual success has not led to much team success for the Fever.

Even after Clark’s impressive performance on Tuesday night, the Fever fell at the hands of the Los Angeles Sparks, dropping their record to 1-7 on the year.

The team success will likely come as Clark continues to play better and better. But for the time being, the Fever haven’t thrived despite Clark’s best efforts.
