Tour De France officials have issued pretty stern warnings to fans about the dangers of getting too close to the course while attempting to take photos of the riders. One fan did not heed those warnings and learned his lesson quite quickly and brutally when he was absolutely trucked by a rider at high speed.
But did the rider do it on purpose? It certainly looks like he dropped the shoulder to send a message, plus he immediately ceased pedaling to keep his balance. It’s also not a secret that riders are fed up with fans obstructing their paths for the purpose of taking photos…for example:
