A youth hockey game in Russia late last month featured a bit of a ruckus during the postgame handshake line between the two teams comprised of 8-year olds. Apparently, hostilities were built up during the game and then spilled over to the ceremonial display of…um, sportsmanship…following the final whistle.
The resulting video (above) is a source of great internal conflict for me.
On one hand, I love hockey brawls. They are fun and chaotic and a wonderful source of entertainment – assuming nobody gets seriously injured, of course. On the other hand, I generally prefer my brawls be between adults and not small children who are still in elementary school.
Dammit, Russia…why must you be so crazy.
