Online dating website Match.com will start screening its users against the national sex offender database. Match.com has planned on implementing this service for years now but after a recent incident where a woman was assaulted after meeting someone on the site, the company has decided to expedite adding the service.
Mandy Ginsberg, president of Match.com, told the AP, “We’ve been advised that a combination of improved technology and an improved database now enables a sufficient degree of accuracy to move forward with this initiative, despite its continued imperfection.”
The service is said to begin within the next 60-90 days.
