TSN’s Darren Dreger has confirmed that the Vinny Lecavalier sweepstakes is over.
Just last week, Lecavalier was bought out by the Tampa Bay Lightning, but it didn’t take long for him to find a new home in Philly. He’ll be a solid replacement for the recently bought-out Danny Briere, but the choice is surprising nonetheless. With this signing, the Flyers are now $500k over their salary cap and still in desperate need of a starting goaltender. Looks like they still have some unloading to do before they’ll be ready for next season. See ya, Brayden Coburn.
ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun tweeted that the deal includes a full no-move clause, so Vinny can go ahead and get comfortable in Philly.
