Last week, Nashville Predators restricted free agent defeneseman, Shea Weber, signed a 14-year, $110 million offer sheet with the Philadelphia Flyers. Today, the Predators matched that offer securing that Weber will be a Predator for the next 14 seasons. This 14-year contract is the third largest in league history behind the 15-year contracts signed by Rick DiPietro with the New York Islanders and Ilya Kovalchuk with the New Jersey Devils. Weber is set to make $14 million in each of his first four years, $12 million in his fifth and sixth years, $6 million in each of the next four seasons, $3 million in year 11, and $1 million in each of the remaining years. In other words, dude just got PAID. Nashville fans should be very pleased about this.
