Matt Fraser only played in 14 games for the Boston Bruins this season but the forward – recalled from the AHL on Wednesday afternoon – stepped up and netted the only goal of Game 4 in overtime against the Canadiens on Thursday night.
The 23-year-old forward, playing in his first career Stanley Cup playoff game, became just the sixth player in the last 75 years to score his first career playoff goal in a 1-0 OT game. That’s a pretty incredible feat, but it’s even more spectacular when you consider how much Fraser’s situation has changed in the past few days:
Quite a ride for Matt Fraser: "Yesterday I was at Chipotle eating lunch and wondering what I was going to do for the day."

Burritos = game-winning goals, everybody knows that. But Chipotle wasn’t the only confession Fraser made about his diet immediately following the game. Just moments after celebrating with his teammates, Fraser remained on the ice to talk to Pierre McGuire and admit – pretty much unsolicited – that he also ate frozen yogurt yesterday and was feeling pretty bad about it.

It was a pretty strange moment that you can probably chalk up to nerves, but he may want to consider revamping that diet if he hopes to stick around with the Bruins for the rest of their playoff run.
Then again, burritos and frozen yogurt have worked out pretty well for him thus far.
