The Florida Panthers were on the verge of sweeping the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanely Cup Final, taking a commanding 3-0 lead in the series. That was until former United States President Donald Trump offered his praise and support for the team on social media.

Midway through Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final, as the Florida Panthers were trying to close out the series and pull off the sweep to win the franchise’s first Stanely Cup, Donald Trump made a post on social media in which he called the Panthers “a fantastic Ice Hockey Team” and made it clear that he will be rooting for them.

“Wow, the Florida Panthers are a fantastic Ice Hockey Team. They’re 3-0 against the very good Edmonton Oilers from Canada. They’re down 1 to 0 tonight, but it’s still early. Hopefully they will put them away. Very impressive!” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.

The problem is, this post seems to have cursed Florida as the Panthers have been resoundingly outplayed the past three games and are now on the verge of becoming the first team to blow a 3-0 series lead in the Stanley Cup Final in over 80 years.

After losing Game 4 by a score of 8-1, Game 5 by a score of 5-3, and Game 6 by a game of 5-1, the series is now going to Game 7, where the Oilers will have a chance to pull off the epic comeback.

Needless to say, it would be pretty embarrassing for the Panthers to completely collapse the moment that Donald Trump expressed his support and praise. So Trump will obviously be rooting hard for the Panthers to help him avoid that embarrassing situation on Monday night.
