Kansas City Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce has a legitimate argument to call himself the best tight end in the NFL, even this season in a down year. But it sounds like he’s giving that title to someone else: San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle.
During a press conference this week, Travis Kelce had a pretty clear message for Kittle, calling him “the best tight end in the league” for the way that he has performed so far this season.
“King of Tight End U, man. He’s the best tight end in the league and deservingly so this year,” Kelce said during the press conference. “He’s been playing lights out, playing the best football of his career and really catapulting that San Fran team through the playoffs, man. I couldn’t be more proud of him… Couldn’t be more honored to go up against George in another Super Bowl.”
Both Kelce and Kittle have emerged as the most dominant playmakers at the tight end position in the entire league over the past several years, so it’s only fitting that they will both be competing for a potential Super Bowl championship next weekend. We’ll have to see who comes out on top.
