It has been over a year since Tom Brady, perhaps the greatest quarterback of all time, has played in the NFL game. But even at 46 years of age, Brady hasn’t ruled out a potential return to the NFL, under the right circumstances that is.
At his age, the chances of Brady playing a full season in the NFL are pretty slim. However, Brady admitted in a recent interview that he would at least “pick up the phone” for some NFL teams if he were asked to unexpectedly play in a playoff game.
“Patriots, could be Raiders, could be, you never know,” said Brady to internet personality VicBlends. “I’m not opposed to it. I don’t know if they’re going to let me if I become an owner of an NFL team,” Brady said. “I don’t know, I’m always going to be in good shape, always going to be able to throw the ball. To come in for a little bit, like MJ coming back, I don’t know if they’d let me but I wouldn’t be opposed to it.”
This is obviously a hypothetical scenario that is not likely to play out. And as Brady said, his impending role as a part-owner in the Las Vegas Raiders organization would likely bar him from playing in an NFL game, not to mention his role as a Fox broadcaster next season.
Still, it’s an intriguing possibility for Brady to potentially lace up the cleats one more time at the NFL level. Who knows, maybe the NFL world hasn’t seen the last of Tom Brady as an NFL quarterback…
