Legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady is widely considered the best and most accomplished quarterback in NFL history. But there is one thing he was never known for throughout his playing days – his speed. But it sounds like he’s going to try to show off his legs a little bit this week.
Brady is now retired from the NFL after he walked away from the game around this time last year, but that doesn’t mean he’s done trying to prove himself athletically.
In a social media post on Wednesday, Brady announced that he has been training and will run a 40-yard dash to try to show off his speed and see if it improved since he worked out at the NFL Scouting Combine leading up to the 2000 NFL Draft, where he was famously selected in the sixth round by the New England Patriots.

“24 years ago, I ran a 5.28 [second] 40-yard dash,” Tom Brady said in a video posted to X, the social media website formerly known as Twitter. “Working out today – maybe, just maybe we’ll give the 40 one more shot.”
“Drop your predictions…” Brady said in his post.
We’ll have to see whether or not Brady is able to improve upon the abysmal time he posted years ago.
