According to John Ourand of The Sports Business Daily, The NFL is doing just fine in terms of selling ads at a record-high price for this upcoming Super Bowl. CBS has already sold 80 percent of the Super Bowl’s game ad inventory. Sources say that CBS is asking a record-high $3.8 million per 30-second spot for the game, which has set U.S. television viewership records in each of the past three years.
“The game has moved early,” said John Bogusz, executive vice president of sales and marketing for CBS Sports. “We’re certainly well ahead of where we were three years ago [the last time CBS carried the game].”
With the recent boom of online advertising, especially within the social media realm, this news is good news for Television networks who are willing to shell out the big bucks for sporting events. The inventory should be selling out soon as just a few weeks ago CBS stated that they had only sold 50 percent of their inventory. What do you think will be the cost of ads for Superbowl 54? You can find the best Superbowl 54 odds for the teams that will be participating as well!
