Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is having a rough go of things.

Rice was having a breakout season as the Chiefs’ and quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ number-one receiving option. That came to a brutal and abrupt against the Los Angeles Chargers when Mahomes threw an interception and seemingly injured Rice while attempting to make a tackle during the return.

The Chiefs initially feared the injury was severe, although nothing has been confirmed yet. Now Rice has more on his plate as he waits to find out when he’ll be able to return to the football field.

TMZ Sports reported that Rice’s mother, Marsha Kearney, was accused of stealing a package off of a neighbor’s doorstep after Rice went down with his injury. The neighbor claims that the entire incident was caught on the doorbell camera.

“TMZ Sports has obtained Ring footage of what one Texas resident claims shows Marsha Kearney — wearing a custom ‘Momma-Rice’ No. 4 jersey — walk by their doorway and look right into the camera before walking down the hall around 6:39 p.m. CT on Sept. 29 … after the Chiefs defeated the Chargers in Los Angeles.”

According to the neighbor, Rice’s mom stole “two limited-edition Chappell Roan vinyls.” TMZ reported that the alleged victim tried to settle the dispute with Rice and his mother, but was unsuccessful.

Texas police confirmed to TMZ that an official report concerning the alleged theft was made.

This is all on top of Rice allegedly causing a six-vehicle crash on a Dallas highway earlier in the year, resulting in eight potential felony charges. It’ll be interesting to see how Rice responds to everything he’s dealing with.
