With Patrick Mahomes winning three Super Bowl titles in his first six seasons as the starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, he has already drawn comparisons to Tom Brady and entered the debate regarding whether or not he is the greatest player in the history of the league. But he thinks it’s far too early for him to even be in that conversation.
During a recent interview with Time Magazine, Patrick Mahomes made it clear that he is “nowhere near” the greatest player of all time compared to Tom Brady and some other players who have sustained greatness throughout their entire careers.
“You have to build a consistency of a career,” Mahomes told Time. “You see that in any sport. I’ve had a great run. I think I’ve done a great job so far. But it’s hard to take away from what Tom did for so long, what Peyton Manning did, or Aaron Rodgers. There are so many guys, they were at such a high level for such a long time. In order to be in that conversation, you have to do that on a year-to-year basis. You can’t take it for granted that you did it the year before.”
Obviously, this is a pretty honest response from Mahomes, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.

He's right, but if Mahomes stays healthy & has good support he'll get there. Right now he is to the Chiefs what MJ was to the Chicago Bulls.

I like the humility and of course he’s right. The only debate is whether or not he’s as high as fourth on the list.
I doubt he will ever match Brady.

Mahomes has 3 Super Bowls, so he is getting in the GOAT conversation
Especially this past year with all the drops and crazy losses, and they still won in Baltimore & in Buffalo when it mattered— Maria Panova (@notsleeeping) April 17, 2024
He’s right. When he has 8 he’s the goat.

Mahomes certainly has a chance to enter the conversation, but he doesn’t seem to think that he’s quite there yet.
