Over the past several years, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals have had a few high-profile matchups with the Bengals seeming to have more success against the Chiefs than most teams throughout the league. And Joe Burrow thinks there’s a reason for that.
During a recent appearance on the New Heights podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce, Cincinnati Bengals superstar quarterback Joe Burrow opened up a little bit about the matchups between the Chiefs and the Bengals, saying that he thinks the Bengals are “built to beat” the Chiefs.
“I don’t know. I think we both work really hard. They have great players, we have great players,” Burrow said on the podcast according to the Cincinnati Bengals team website. “I think we match up pretty well with them. I think we’re built to beat them. I always appreciate the legendary battles we have. Guys are out there always making plays. Patrick is always out there making plays. Both teams have big-time defensive lines. It’s a great matchup.”
Obviously, these words led to a lot of reactions on social media.

This would make a lot more sense if they were also built to make the playoffs. Maybe focus on beating teams in the AFC North, first?

Not when Joe is hurt when they play them

His record against the Ravens says he has other things on his mind besides The Chiefs. He’s just talking to reporters.

Bengals division is tough! All year the games with Browns, Ravens, Steelers will be great!
Just the battle to reach the playoffs will be wild!

Despite this claim, the Bengals have lost the past two games against the Chiefs, falling in the AFC Championship Game following the 2022 season and falling in the regular season in 2023, though Burrow was injured for last year’s game.
