The New York Giants signed starting quarterback Daniel Jones to a contract extension before the start of the 2023 NFL season and have publicly declared that he will be the team’s starting quarterback for the 2024 NFL season, but that does not seem to be stopping the Giants from considering drafting a quarterback in the first round.
According to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the New York Giants are bringing in LSU Tigers star quarterback Jayden Daniels for a visit as they prepare and make their decisions for the upcoming NFL Draft.
“#LSU QB and Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels is set to meet with the #Giants on Monday for a Top 30 visit, per @Agentbutler1. NYG continues to do the homework on the top QBs,” Rapoport said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, this led to a lot of reactions on social media.
If the Giants love a QB in this draft, you can't say they didn't do their homework. https://t.co/hfXLh0PRhB

If Jayden Daniels is not picked by rival #Commanders and is there at 3, #Giants draft night gets infinitely more interesting https://t.co/fIlad5BqwD

still going with my gut feeling that maye will fall right into our laps. apparently the league is giving him 2020 Justin Herbert treatment https://t.co/FWOvJaiC8U

Important to note that #Giants are doing their homework on the quarterbacks, not only because they want to draft one, but because a team in their division WILL draft one.
Good to have that intel on whoever the #Commanders draft at No. 2. Jayden Daniels especially. Often mocked 2 https://t.co/mMa3WiKs19

Jayden Daniels is a PERFECT scheme fit for us, and his style is ELECTRIC.
Daboll, with that level of talent, would be fun to watch — of course, protecting his body and avoiding big hits will be paramount in the NFL. https://t.co/sLduesQLHS

Only way I see Giants drafting Jayden is if Washington selects Drake Maye and Giants trade w/ New England for 3rd overall. https://t.co/ApVVO86CKm

The New York Giants currently hold the No. 6 overall pick in the NFL Draft which probably is too far back for them to reasonably expect to select Daniels, so if they are going to select him they would likely have to trade up.
We’ll have to see whether or not it happens.
