The Arizona Cardinals have undergone some pretty significant changes in recent years with General Manager Monti Ossenfort and head coach Jonathan Gannon taking over ahead of the 2022 season. And it sounds like one veteran player is pretty pleased with some changes that have happened on the roster, as well.

During an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show last month, Arizona Cardinals veteran running back James Conner absolutely blasted some of his former teammates as he claimed that the team had too many players who “weren’t putting the team before themselves” in the past, but they are no longer with the team.

“We cleansed the roster,” Conner told Eisen on the show according to Pro Football Talk. “Guys who weren’t serious about football, guys who were not in it for the right reasons, guys who don’t put the team first — we slowly weeded that stuff out. That’s what it takes. First we cleanse and then now we’re ready to attack.”

It’s not clear who Conner is specifically talking about with these comments, but it is clear that he is quite happy with the direction of the team after some of the recent changes.

We’ll have to see how Conner and the new-look Cardinals perform this season.
