The AFC North is full of high-profile matchups and fierce division rivalries, but Cleveland Browns star quarterback Deshaun Watson thinks that one of those games stands out from the rest: the rivalry between the Browns and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
During a recent episode of his podcast, Deshaun Watson had a pretty strong message about just how much he values the rivalry against the Pittsburgh Steelers, saying that he believes it is one of the fiercest rivalries in all of sports.
“Cleveland-Pittsburgh, for sure,” Watson said on his podcast according to Troy Montgomery of Steelers Depot. “It’s even bigger than Cincinnati. It’s not Baltimore. Baltimore is up there, but it ain’t as real as Pittsburgh.”
The Browns have an obvious rivalry with the Baltimore Ravens given that the original Browns team became the Ravens after they moved from Cleveland to Baltimore. There’s also an obvious rivalry wit the Cincinnati Bengals given that the two teams are both from the state of Ohio. But it sounds like Watson thinks the rivalry with the Steelers trumps them both.
The Browns play the Steelers in Week 12 and Week 14 this upcoming NFL season. It’s obvious that Watson will be feeling a little extra pressure to win those games.
