Earlier this week, a letter leaked revealing that Colin Kaepernick requested that the New York Jets sign him to their practice squad. But one NFL insider points out why that’s not going to happen.
As league insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk points out, there’s just no chance that Kaepernick will ever play in the NFL again, pointing out that he’s been out of the league for too long and the NFL has successfully colluded against him to keep him out.
“It has simply been too long. It has been too long in part because the NFL successfully colluded against and blackballed Kaepernick,” Florio wrote for Pro Football Talk.
“Congratulations, NFL. You won. The effort to keep Kaepernick out lasted long enough that the best argument for not giving him a chance is that it has simply been too long since he played. That’s the end of the story. The NFL wanted him out. The NFL kept him out. And now, it’s far too long for Kaepernick to get back in.”
It’s a brutal truth that Kaepernick should soon accept as he continues to pursue another shot in the NFL, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on social media.

No one can deny the collusion against Colin Kaepernick, but he wasn’t good enough for teams to justify the media circus that’d accompany him. If he had Mahomes level talent, he’d be on a team but he’s been out of the NFL for as many seasons as he was in it. His window has closed.

When he first left SF, I maintained it was less likely to be collusion as him just not being good enough (& there was statistically precedence for that), but after seeing scrub after scrub get shots with needy teams, for a decade, my opinion has changed. Really sad for his career

The Rock would market him into the star of the #XFL. So if that letter was real.Go be the headliner for that league & if he can still play. The whole world would see it! So then the #NFL would have no excuses next time a QB got hurt, that’s only way! Period! @ProFootballTalk

He’s bad for business. He sued the shield for millions more than 90%of nfl players will ever make in their lifetimes. Goodell easily could have told the owners ‘hey, this guy is suing us and I highly suggest not to add him to your roster. It would not look good to do so.’

Collusion probably happened, but he decided to take the settlement with the NDA instead of pursuing legal action and letting the truth come out in federal court.

It sounds like the NFL dreams are over for Kaepernick.
