Cleveland Browns helmets Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Since joining the Cleveland Browns ahead of the 2020 season, Bill Callahan has been an important part of the Cleveland Browns coaching staff, serving as the team’s offensive line coach. The Browns were obviously happy with how he has performed and certainly weren’t looking to replace him, but it a surprising twist, they’re now going to have to.

During a press conference this week, Cleveland Browns head coach gave a pretty simple answer for why Bill Callahan is leaving the team, explaining that he is going to work for his son Brian Callahan, who just became the head coach of the Tennessee Titans. And the Browns did not want to stand in the way of that relationship.

“Bill Callahan, very unique situation there, to go work for Brian not with Brian — he’s going to go work for Brian,” Stefanski said. “I can’t wait for Brian to boss him around. The dream of every kid is to boss your parents around. So, happy for those guys.

“I think organizationally, we realized that’s a unique situation and did not want to stand in the way of that. So, excited for, certainly, Brian and Bill down there.”

It’s obviously not ideal for the Browns as they lose a key part of their coaching staff, but it’s a great opportunity for Bill and Brian Callahan in Tennessee.
