The Kansas City Chiefs have taken all the necessary steps thus far in pursuit of their third straight Super Bowl title. Heading into the final weekend of the regular season at 15-1, the Chiefs hold the best record in the NFL and have already secured the number one seed in the AFC.

With the playoffs just around the corner, Kansas City is making the final touches and decisions on its roster.

According to one prominent NFL insider, the Chiefs are set to get a major piece back from the injured reserve.

The (Chiefs) are designating CB Jaylen Watson to return from IR, and he will practice today, sources tell (NFL on FOX). This is a huge boost for Kansas City, who has been without Watson since late October due to a broken fibula. He and Trent McDuffie are one of the best CB duos in the league and KC could now have him back just in time for the postseason,” reported FOX’s Jordan Schultz on Friday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Unreal, how do the Chiefs never have any real major season ending injuries. Rashee Rice seems to be the only outlier but he was taken out by Mahomes on a freak play and at this rate will probably be back soon anyway,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Chiefs gonna 3 peat huh. They getting healthy at the exact right time,” one fan added.

“This could help not only in pass coverage, but also in the pass rush. Just in time for the playoffs,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see what sort of impact Watson has when he returns.
