Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio ran a story on Friday afternoon which stated that ‘the Cleveland Browns nearly pulled off a trade with the 49ers for the rights to coach Jim Harbaugh.’ The story itself seemed a bit ridiculous, but Florio usually does his homework and has some solid sources.
Not everyone believed the report and NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport weighed in saying that it is untrue according to his two sources in the 49ers organization. The two exchanged a couple of jabs and finally 49ers CEO Jed York entered the mix with a simple and perfect Tweet TKO.
