The Ohio State Buckeyes will suddenly be in need of a new head baseball coach this offseason as head coach Bill Mosiello has suddenly announced his resignation from the team after serving as the team’s coach for the past two years.

The Ohio State athletic department confirmed the news of Mosiello’s resignation on Friday afternoon, indicating that the coach “will be pursuing other professional opportunities.”

“We want to thank Bill for his time as a Buckeye and wish him well with his new adventures,” Ohio State Executive Associate Athletic Director Shaun Richard said in a statement from the university. “I’m looking forward to the process of finding the next leader that will take this program to the next level.”

Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball reports that Bill Mosiello will now be returning to TCU, where he will take over as the team’s top assistant and hitting coach – just as he was two years ago before he left the team to become the head coach at Ohio State.

Needless to say, Ohio State fans were certainly not at all happy with this move from Mosiello.

Ohio State will now begin its search for its next head coach this offseason.
