The Los Angeles Lakers are off to an 0-4 start, a result that is a surprise to approximately zero people who follow the Lakers at all. The combination of inexperienced youth and a mightily struggling Kobe Bryant are doing about as well as one could expect; with a close loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves and not-so-close losses to the Kings, Mavericks and Nuggets.
Nevertheless, after the team’s loss to the Nuggets on Tuesday night, Kobe was able to insert a little gallows humor into his post-game media session.
Because it’s always better to laugh than cry.
I asked Kobe what I should tell the fans who are freaking out with the Lakers' losses – he said let them freak out its good for the soul

Here's the specific quote from Kobe to the fans freaking out – "Freak out. It's good. It's good for the soul."

If there is one thing that should have Lakers fans worried, it’s that Kobe’s off to an incredibly bad start to the season. He’s shooting 32% from the field (and 21% from three) while averaging 15.8 points, 4 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.
You know things are bad when LeBron has to clarify that Kobe doesn’t suck:
He knows he don’t suck. C’mon man, it’s Kobe Bryant. But it’s a personal challenge to him. That’s all that is.
