A lot has been made this season of LeBron James and his chemistry (or lack thereof) with some of his new teammates.
Most of the speculation began earlier this season, when Kevin Love admitted that he and LeBron were “not best friends,” a quote that bizarrely became a running narrative as to why the Cavs weren’t winning every single game they played as if championships were won due to The Power of Friendship. If they were, Kobe Bryant wouldn’t have a ring.
LeBron was quick to point out that he only has three players in the league who he considers close friends and that doesn’t mean that he can’t connect with his teammates on the court. So, who are the three players that LeBron considers his closest friends in the NBA?
Per Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com, it’s Melo, Wade and CP3.
“People get so infatuated with the best of friends, things of that nature,” James said. “First of all, I’ve got three very good friends in this league, and that’s Carmelo (Anthony), and that’s C.P. (Chris Paul), and that’s D-Wade. And after that I have a bunch of teammates. I have guys I ride for every day.
“But Kyrie is a guy I understand how important he is to this team, how important he is. And the same with Kev as well.”
What, no Mario Chalmers? I’m shocked.
