On Wednesday, the Oklahoma City Thunder decided to fire coach Scott Brooks after he served the team for seven seasons.
Kevin Durant released his own thoughts on Brooks’ firing, noting that while he supported the Thunder’s decision “100 percent,” he would always be thankful for what he, Brooks and the Thunder accomplished under Brooks’ tenure.
Although the Thunder missed the playoffs this year (largely due to injuries to Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook at various points in the season), the team had made the playoffs the previous five seasons and they reached the NBA Finals once during the 2011-12 season. Brooks ended his time in Oklahoma City with a 338-207 record, good enough for a .620 winning percentage.
