Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani recently purchased a $7.85 million mansion in Los Angeles. But just two months later, the home is back on the market without Ohtani ever even moving into the house.
According to Yahoo Japan, Ohtani has decided to sell the property without yet moving in. In a translation done by the New York Post, Ohtani said that he could “no longer live” in the 1.2 billion yen mansion he had purchased, further indicating his intention to sell it without moving into his new home.
Ohtani originally purchased the home from comedian Adam Carolla, which created some issues when information began to emerge to the public about the location of the home.
Fans quickly began to decipher the location of the home, which was only aided by Japanese outlets Fuji TV and Nippon TV revealing the address of the house and sending reporters outside the front of the home to take pictures.
Obviously, this situation has to be incredibly frustrating for Ohtani. But it truly shows how big of a star he has become in the United States, perhaps bigger than any other player in baseball.
Hopefully, Ohtani will quickly be able to find another home with a secure address that is unknown to the public in the future. Since joining the Dodgers this season, the Japanese star has been as excellent as ever, ranking inside the top 10 in all of baseball in home runs, batting average, and on-base percentage on the year.
