Ski jumping is one of those Winter Olympic sports that Americans tend to ignore, and for good ol’ American reasons: we totally suck at it. Seriously, one friggin’ medal (bronze, because of course) in 90 years’ worth of Winter Olympic competition. And, the guy who won that bronze medal in Chamonix (France) in 1924 (aka, the first Winter Olympics): Anders Haugen. That doesn’t even sound American. Thus, nobody gives a shit about ski jumping.
But, what we do give a shit about is awesome GoPro videos, like the one above, in which Anders Jacobsen of Norway somehow rigged a camera to capture this incredible angle of a recent jump. In the pantheon of ski jumpers named Anders, this guy is definitely in my personal Top 2.
