Referee’s have thankless jobs and are easy targets for some good old fashioned ribbing. Dr. Felix Byrch who is a German referee also has afairly impressive educational resume.
According to Dirty Tackle:
Dr. Felix Brych is smarter than the average bear — the German referee is a qualified lawyer, with a doctorate in sports law. The 37-year-old has been officiating in the Bundesliga for 8 years, and has also refereed in Euro 2008 qualifiers, the UEFA Cup, the Champions League, the South Korean K-League and the London 2012 Games.
However, no amount of education can save you from the perils of drinking water, and the good doctor found that out the hard way when officiating a game this weekend.
