Jets running back Joe McKnight might find himself on the wrong end of a Twitter controversy after a tweet he sent out Monday morning.
Ticked off by a Twitter troll he perceived to be a reporter, McKnight directed an angry response to “these reporters” and included the threatening words “I know who you are.”
Now I’m trying to keep my cool but now it has gone too far with these reporters. Just let y’all know I’m not the one. I know who you are
— JOE MCKNIGHT (@Joejetlife) August 12, 2013
Joe McKnight mistook an irate fan’s tweet for a reporter. So, it appears he challenged a reporter to a fight (when it was actually a fan)

Although the McKnight tweet comes from an unverified account (and the running back already has a verified account – @OfficialJoeJet – from which he hasn’t tweeted in a while) the Jets have confirmed that @Joejetlife is a legitimate account run by McKnight.
