The PGA of America is set to announce the Team USA captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup on Tuesday.
Many golf observers and insiders have speculated for the past few months that the legendary Tiger Woods would replace Zach Johnson as US Ryder Cup captain.
However, according to The Telegraph, the 15-time major winner rejected the opportunity to lead the Americans at the annual international golf tournament.
Enter Donald Trump?
According to BonusCodeBets, the 2024 Republican presidential frontrunner is listed at 500 to 1 odds to lead the US Ryder Cup team.
For the uninitiated, that means you will win $500 for every $1 placed on Trump.
The pick would certainly be unorthodox and would lead to controversy. But if anybody could pull off the feat, it might be former president Trump.
Trump has been an avid golfer throughout his entire adult life, before, during, and after his presidency, too. Recently, Trump and his old political rival, Democrat Joe Biden, squabbled over who could hit a golf ball better.
According to The Daily Mail, Trump played golf every 6.3 days of his presidency. With roughly two percent chance of joining the Ryder Cup team, it might be wise to only bet money you could afford to lose on Trump.
