Former president Donald Trump is engaged in a bitterly contested election to return to the Oval Office in January.
But that’s not stopping the real estate mogul from making moves to improve his legendary portfolio.
According to South Florida Business Journal, the Trump Organization, owned by Trump and managed by his adult children, is seeking approval for 1,498 condos at his Doral golf resort just outside Miami.
According to the report, Doral officials approved the comprehensive plan amendment changing the land use for Trump National Doral Miami in 2023.
The plan calls for “1,498 condos in four towers of 20 stories each, 141,694 square feet of commercial space with mostly retail and restaurants, and a significant amount of public space,” according to South Florida Business Journal.
“It’s really geared towards people who are golfing enthusiasts, overseas buyers who want golf course-type amenities,” Lasarte said. “You buy a unit and become a member of the country club in Doral, then you have virtually unlimited access to golf, tennis and pools,” local attorney Felix Lasarte told the outlet about the project.
Trump currently faces Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election after President Joe Biden removed himself from the competition, citing increased age. The Harris candidacy has blown new wind into the sails of the Democratic campaign, though official results won’t be known until Nov. 5th at the earliest.
