Count two-time LPGA winner Charley Hull as one of the growing chorus of professional golfers who would like to see Turnberry return to The Open’s championship rota.

Turnberry lost the right to host The Open thanks to the perceived antics of former President Donald Trump, who owns the property.

However, Hull, who has rocketed to fame thanks to smoking cigarettes while playing, says it would be “a shame” if The Open didn’t return to Turnberry.

“I thought [Trump Turnberry] was a great golf course. Great fun,” Hull told Golf.com after a round on the famous links. “I love being out on the golf course, and the views on that golf course is brilliant. It was so much fun. I played it on Monday.”

She was very direct with the outlet when asked if The Open should return to Turnberry.

“A hundred percent,” Hull replied, “I think it’s a shame. It is a really top track.”

Hull went on to say that she considers Turnberry to be one of the best golf courses in the world.

“Like honestly, it’s one of the best golf courses in the world,” Hull continued. “It would be a shame to not be on there.”

However, Hull admitted that she prefers American-styled golf courses better than British ones.

“I didn’t play much links golf when I was growing up. I did it at the British Amateur and stuff, but apart from that, I just love parkland.”
