One of the most entertaining things you can do in sports is debate who is the greatest player of all-time. We’re lucky enough to have been in this golden era of basketball where we’ve seen some of the top players the game has ever seen. Michael Jordan is widely argued as the greatest of all-time, but some argue that Kobe Bryant and LeBron James are threatening his reign at the top. Who better to ask who is the best than his Airness himself, Michael Jordan.
NBA 2k14 being released today so 2K Sports is drumming up some excitement by releasing a bleeped video of MJ being interviewed by Ahmad Rashad. Jordan said there’s a long list of players whom he would have liked to have played one-on-one against, including Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Julius Erving, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Bryant and LeBron James, who is on the cover of this year’s game. Jordan declared, “I don’t think I would lose.” Then added “Other than to Kobe Bryant because he steals all of my moves.”
You have to take to take Jordan over LeBron if only for one reason; MJ’s ferocious competitive spirit that wouldn’t allow himself to lose to King James. Kobe has that same win-at-all-costs mentality and would present a tough opponent for Jordan. Who do you think was the best one-on-one player in NBA history?
