39. Matt Thornton, Relief Pitcher
There was a time when Matt Thornton was one of the best left-handed relievers in all of baseball. However, Thornton failed to make an appearance in the playoffs for the Red Sox after wrestling with an oblique injury for much of his time in Boston. After coming over from the White Sox in the Jake Peavy deadline deal, Thornton allowed six earned runs in 15.1 innings for the BoSox. There is always a high demand for lefties and Thornton should be able to find a job somewhere.
