Frank Lucas and Burt Macklin are set to ride off into the sunset together.
The Western genre is a classic one. Before directors could imagine or create things like alien invasions, epic fantasy tales, or anyone loving Katherine Heigl, they had cowboys shootin’ guns and rustlin’ cattle. Over time, unfortunately, they’ve been overshadowed as other genres became more and successful.
Antoine Fuqua is hoping to change all that with his reboot of The Magnificent Seven, one of the most celebrated Westerns of all time. It follows the hiring of seven mercenaries by a small town set to take on a ruthless industrialist, played by the ruthless Peter Sarsgaard. Just look at that ruthless face.
Chilling.
The film looks pretty good, with Denzel’s exceptional facial hair and Pratt being the charming bastard he was meant to be. We’ll just have to wait and see if they if they can save the town, the girl, and potentially the Rec Center (by way of dance-off, of course).
And if you’re in need of more movie fun, look no further than the deck below.
