ESPN host and long-time dysfunctional couples counselor Cari Champion is leaving the Land of the Hottest Takes that is First Take for the relatively saner ground of SportsCenter.
Seeing as how one should only have to suffer through Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless for as little time as possible, Champion will film her last episode of First Take on Friday. According to The Wrap, Champion is expected to join SportsCenter in mid-July to work during the show’s morning segments.
She is expected to work on morning segments of the broadcast beginning in mid-July, particularly a series of upcoming “interactions” about sports and entertainment with members of ABC’s “Good Morning America.”
Congratulations to Champion. After enduring the reality-bending “debates” between Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless for two and a half years, Champion probably deserves some sort of medal of courage to go with her new dream job.
