Rihanna and Jay-Z have been chosen as two headliners to perform at the London 2012 Olympic Games. To say the folks in the UK are excited is an understatement.
“There will be absolutely something for everyone: from Beethoven to Jay-Z, from Shakespeare to Mike Leigh,” Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt said at the news conference in the Tower of London. Meanwhile Royal Opera House Chief Executive Tony Hall, who chairs the Cultural Olympiad board was quoted as saying: “The London 2012 Festival will be the biggest cultural celebration in our lifetime.”
Other acts which have already been booked include Florence + the Machine, Jack White, David Guetta and Tinie Tempah.
