The new Marvel movie, Black Panther is making news for plenty of reasons. The film is directed by an African-American, Ryan Coogler and stars nearly an entire all-black cast. It is a big step in the right direction for an industry that lacks a lot of diversity.
One of the stars of the movie is Lupita Nyong’o, she is an Oscar winner, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she can get tickets to her own movie. The movie has the best presale campaign in the history of Marvel. Obviously, Nyong’o is going to get tickets some other way. For now, she is spreading the good news about the movie’s sales thus far.
@THR says @theblackpanther is @MarvelStudios best-selling movie in terms of presales after JUST 24 HOURS! Don’t I know it: I even tried!!!! #Throwback to a video I made last night. pic.twitter.com/aoJcdaqfhi

With presales as robust as they are and an all-star cast starring, the hype around this movie continues to grow. Have I mentioned that Grammy Award-winning hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar is curating and putting together the soundtrack? That is a lot of firepower involved with the movie.
While presale tickets are being purchased quickly, for those unaware, Black Panther is on screens nationwide February 16.
