It’s been a rough couple of months for the Ohio State Buckeyes after they suffered losses to the Michigan Wolverines to close the regular season and to the Missouri Tigers in the Cotton Bowl. But the Buckeyes got some pretty good news to end the week.

On Friday morning, Ohio State safety Lathan Ransom announced that he will be returning to Ohio State for his final seasons of college football instead of entering the NFL Draft.

“It’s not easy to leave a team. It’s much harder to leave a brotherhood,” Ransom said in his post on social media. “This football program and this University mean too much to me, and we have unfinished business. After much thought and prayer, I have decided to return to The Ohio State University for my final season in 2024.”

Ransom was assumed to be headed for the 2024 NFL draft until he suffered what turned out to be a season-ending lower leg injury at the end of October. With the leg injury cutting his season short and making it impossible for him to go through the NFL Combine or Pro Day workouts, he has elected to return.

In his eight games this season, Ransom had 34 total tackles with 1.5 tackles for loss, one interception, one forced fumble, and two pass breakups.

His return is obviously massive for the Buckeyes.
