Last month, Ohio State Buckeyes running backs coach Tony Alford changed sides in college football’s biggest rivalry when he decided to leave the Buckeyes to become the running backs coach at Michigan, instead. And now, it looks like another coach has changed sides in the rivalry.
According to a report from Joey Kaufman of the Columbus Dispatch, Ohio State has hired longtime offensive line coach Tim Drevno, who was Jim Harbaugh’s first offensive coordinator when he joined the Wolverines back in 2015.
“Ohio State has hired longtime offensive line coach Tim Drevno as part of its support staff, the school confirmed Wednesday,” Kaufman wrote for the Dispatch this week.
“Drevno, who will be a quality control coach for the Buckeyes, worked with Chip Kelly for the past three seasons at UCLA.”
Obviously, Drevno left Michigan several seasons ago, so this is not quite the same thing as Alford leaving Ohio State to take the same job at Michigan, but it still led to a lot of reactions on social media as a result.

Drevno will not have an on-field role with the Buckeyes as he will serve as an off-field analyst, but he is still expected to make an impact.
