Over the past few years, the Philadelphia Eagles have generated a lot of conversation about their “tush push” style of quarterback sneak where players line up behind quarterback Jalen Hurts and push him forward on short-yardage plays. It’s been extremely effective for the Eagles, and it sounds like the league has no plans to remove the play from the game.
As Pro Football Talk reports, the NFL has announced that the league is not planning to discuss any changes or rules against the “tush push” in the near future.
“NFL Executive V.P. of Football Operations Troy Vincent confirmed on Thursday that there is no proposal from any team or from the Competition Committee to ban the quarterback sneak play that the Eagles have run so effectively, and no plans to discuss a rule against the play at the upcoming owners’ meeting,” Michael David Smith wrote for Pro Football Talk.
This is pretty significant news, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media.

In the words of Troy Vincent: “end of discussion, move on!”

As I’ve said many times about this, it was never changing because there’s no way to write a rule for it without fundamentally changing the game. https://t.co/3CxL6rcT4T

Without Kelse, it won't work in Philly anymore. https://t.co/SbVF8m8yJm

It'll take 2 of these in the SB for them to table it
All the screaming will distract us as THEY TRY TO BAN DEFENSE COMPLETELY!
No more tackles of any kind are permitted. The knee drop tackle is fine, its the runner who insists on continuing after D wrapped up that gets hurt https://t.co/uKzoozLFfs

The NFL clearly is not planning to remove a play from the game just because one team has been very effective at using it, which is good news for the Eagles.
