Last Wednesday was National Girls and Women in Sports Day across the United States, and one Republican politician decided to use the day as an opportunity to call out transgender athletes.

In a social media post on Wednesday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a United States Representative from Georgia who has become notorious for her far-right beliefs, shared a post on social media opening up about all that she has committed to her daughter to help her softball career while also calling out transgender  athletes for being “fake girls and women.”

“Driving her to countless practices, traveling the entire country for her national tournaments, scrubbing out impossible stains in her uniforms, making her ice packs and ice baths, cheering her on from the stands, taking a million pictures and videos, giving her hugs and shedding tears after tough losses and national championships are some of the greatest moments of being her Mom,” Greene said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

“Because I raised a daughter that knows and has what it takes to compete among the best girls and women in the world, I will always fight to keep the fake girls and women, the boys and men, out of our sports!

“Celebrating the real girls and women athletes on this National Girls and Women in Sports Day!”

Greene has never been shy about speaking out against transgender athletes, and she’s done it again.
