The issue of whether or not transgender women should be permitted to compete in women’s sports has become one of the hottest debates in the country recently, and one college volleyball player is now using her platform to speak out against transgender athletes.

Macy Petty is a college volleyball player at Lee University. She recently appeared on the “Varney & Co.” podcast where she opened up about her experience in college athletics, claiming without much evidence that schools will now intentionally recruit transgender women and girls to give them a competitive edge.

“There’s a lot of money in sports and these coaches, their jobs are dependent on them winning,” Macy Petty told guest host David Asman on Monday.

“So, if there’s no rules from the NCAA saying that it has to be a female that occupies this female scholarship spot, then they’re going to go out and recruit whoever’s going to win. Unfortunately, because of biological advantages, they’re going to go out and recruit men now.”

During the interview, Petty was also asked about transgender athletes causing injuries to opponents during competitions, and she had some pretty strong words to show her displeasure, even if she hadn’t experienced it in person.

“It’s heartbreaking. We’re seeing it from coast to coast,” Petty replied. “Just last year, we saw something very similar in North Carolina. This is very uncommon for volleyball, but this is what happens when you put men on the court with other female athletes.”
